burns on face

Feeling pretty darned lucky for it not to be worse...

last week, i was cooking whilst wearing my diy floaty painting shirt and it caught fire... resulting in a few burned fingers lots of frizzled hair and burn on my face when trying to take off my flaming shirt!

anyway, my affected fingers are all bandaged up, blisters popped by the nurses at the local walk in centre and on the road to recovery. But my face, which probably has the deepest burn, only has vasaline on it to keep it from going too hard when forming a scar.

i really thought there would be something more to do to prevent scarring. The area is on the side of my face about a 50p coin size, and there is no pain, just a rawness iyswim.

i had microsurgery in australia for a bust finger about a decade ago and i was given silicone strips to prevent scarring and they worked a treat. but i can't find anything in the chemist in uk.

any ideas?

lavender il helps take the sting out of burns and can help scarring - otherwise i guess treat the scar with marigold/calendula cream or vitamin e when it has healed...

HTH
