High bilirubin levels

Sorry if this is long winded but just wondered whether anyone has any experience with this.

I have terrible health anxiety and have got my head in a bit of a spin. I started about 5 weeks ago with a pressure type
feeling just under my ribs on my left hand side. It almost feels like trapped wind and I have excess wind both ends (sorry). I have it more or less from the second I wake up till I go to bed. For about a week I had a dull ache in my right side of my torso but that seems to have disappeared. I have very high stress levels at the moment due to ongoing divorce and my anxiety is not helping matters. I have had this previously but after a few weeks it’s gone. I went two weeks ago to the doctors and examined my stomach which she said was fine and sent me for blood tests. They came back and doctor rang to say that my bilirubin was raised and I’m slightly aneamic. He said he didn’t think there was anything to worry about and asked for somemore bloods to be done to look into my bilirubin levels. I’ve had those results back today and obviously they are abnormal as expected but the doctor wants to see me which has made my head go into a panic!!! He can’t see me till 16th June.

Has anyone had anything similar please and have any ideas what this would be?

Thanks

I have high bilirubin too OP, the doctor said that in my case it is just ‘one of those things’ and is totally harmless. It hasn’t caused me any problems. Try not to worry and see what the doctor says when you see them.

If the doctor doesn’t want to see you until the 16th they are not that concerned.

Iften have high bilirubin as I have Gilbert’s syndrome. Unless there are other indicators, high bilirubin on its own isn’t usually a worry.

Could be a stone in your gall bladder or bile duct.

I always have high bilirubin. It’s usually between 20 and 30. About 15 years ago when I first had it they sent me for a scan, that was fine. Just one of those things.

I have Gilbert’s syndrome they occasionally check my gallbladder and liver on ultrasound but no other levels are elevate usually so it’s just harmless Gilbert’s

Thank you to everyone’s replies. Have the doctors ever recommended a way to bring your levels down? I still have the fullness feeling constantly under my ribs but I’m hoping that’s just being caused by stress!
