Palpitations and anxiety straight after eating, could this be food related?

I had a weird reaction after eating some muesli last night, and it made me wonder if it was a bit of a food intolerance/mast cell activation disorder (histamine?) reaction.

I'm perimenopausal, and had some similar reactions to foods when my hormones dropped during the post natal period after my youngest daughter was born, so it feels similar.

Literally, I ate the muesli and a minute later, I started getting palpitations, felt extremely anxious and restless, and my arms and legs felt tingling. It kept going for a few minutes, and i started to wonder if it was a panic attack, but it seemed unlikely as it was just after I'd eaten (unless of course, the reaction after food was just a coincidence 😅)

Anyone else had any similar issues after eating?

Should I be worried much about it?

Well, yes, but only as I had similar issues after food when I was in the post natal period and my hormones were low, so perhaps that's why I connected the two?

Yes, it is a bit of a stretch but it isn't something I used to get after eating muesli, so I'm not sure it's that much of an over reaction 😅

I'm prone to it, yes, so obviously it could just be anxiety 😬 😅

Yes, I might have to treat myself to another bowl and get more weird symptoms be less anxious about it all 😎😅

It’s real and it’s normal. Not anxiety or food specific!

Digesting increases your heart rate, which explains the heartbeat.

And the tingling in arms and legs happens because all the blood goes to your stomach to digest and your limbs are short of blood so they tingle.

Thank you, so I'm not too ott about it

The PP made me feel a bit silly and like I was overreacting 😬🤔
