I had what I thought was a bite but now considering whether it might be shingles. It's on my lower back. Does the attached pic look like shingles?

Maybe. Mine looked very similar and I thought it was a bite at first.

Are the little lumps multiplying?

They're in a line, and it looks like they might have blistered but are healing now? When I had them, they came up like chicken pox almost.bThe blisters were the size of a pencil eraser before they started drying up.

Have you had any tingling? I felt as though I was buzzing all over; the kind of small electric shock that stings.

Even if a person has had shingles, it's still worth it to get the vaccine. I wished I'd done that when I got them a second time. 🙄

I hope you have an easy case.💟

I forgot to mention they also look a little like scabies.

Are they itching like a bite or more like tingling/nerve pain? It does look possibly like shingles but normally there’d be a lot more spots. How long have they been there?

Also if you do suspect shingles you need meds quickly so if go to the pharmacy this morning for an opinion

If you've previously had chickenpox at some point, it could be shingles.

It could also be the herpes virus (the one that causes cold sores) if the spots are painful, itchy and pus-filled before crusting and becoming weepy. A GP appointment (if you can get one) will help because they can prescribe medication to help with future outbreaks if a diagnosis is positive.

The chemist said it was shingles and prescribed antivirals.

I first noticed it on Thursday night but it then spread over the past 24 hours. Looked very similar to when my daughter had shingles which is why I was thinking it was shingles. That side of my body generally hurts.

@mumtosnchild sorry to hear it is shingles, they're truly awful.

I used the Virasoothe chicken pox spray gel stuff when I had them as I couldn't bear touching them to put anything on. It did help a bit with the burning pain.
