Struggling to lose weight 4 months after baby

Hi all,

so for a bit of background before I fell pregnant I was overweight at 5 foot 4 and 11 and a half stone. I ended up losing weight and when I fell pregnant was just under 9 stone.

I found losing the weight quite easy but only because I was very strict with calorie counting and walking a lot.

Straight after I had my baby I weighed 10 stone 5lbs (almost 4 months ago) and I have gone right back to the same eating habits that I had when losing weight - calorie counting and lots of walking (I’m actually walking a lot more now with the pram and average around 16-20k steps a day) but the weight is coming off sooooo slowly it’s extremely frustrating! Before pregnancy when I was losing weight the weight was coming off very quickly.

Im now 9 stone 13lbs so have only lost 6lbs in almost 4 months. I’m not really sure what else I can do!

Not sure if it matters but I was combi feeding but mostly formula fed now. I also still haven’t had a period.

Is it normal for weight loss to be so stubborn post partum? I know I’m doing all the right things because I’m doing exactly what I did when I manned to lose significant weight prior to pregnancy.

Any advice welcome!

I don’t have much advice as I am naturally slim but I noticed my weight went up when I stopped breastfeeding my son. It probably took around 6 weeks for it to return back to what it was before I stopped breastfeeding. 4 months PP and stopping breastfeeding will mean your hormones are all over the place and you are also more sleep deprived than before which will all also have an effect on weight loss. Try be kind to yourself during this time and give yourself some grace and patience!

Thank you! Baby is still waking up 3x a night so I am definitely sleep deprived so I wonder if that is playing a part too.🥴
