Have you spoken to a podiatrist or chiropodist?

thistimelastweek · 15/05/2026 22:32

Get thee to a podiatrist

I think it can be a sign of autoimmune issues. Any issues with fingernails?

tryandbepositive · 15/05/2026 22:33

When I’ve had this is due to the toe box in trainers or shoes being too narrow hence trauma to the big nail.

I tried using vapor rub on mine after the anti fungal stuff didn't do anything and surprisingly it worked!

thekindoflovewemake · 15/05/2026 22:35

Have you had a new pair of shoes/boots in the last few months?

You say no injury but sometimes if your shoes are a bit ill fitting they can press on your toes when you walk and cause bruising to the nail bed.

Ask your gp to test for fungal infection and you can get the stronger oral medication if it comes back positive.

Mine look like this when I wear my dress shoes on parade (I'm in a marching band).

Well I never. The things other Mumsnetters get up to will never cease to surprise and delight me.🙂
