Advice needed - brain aneurysm??

I have had since the weekend a really painful, sharp, sudden headache come on on the right side and making my eye painful too. As well as jaw ache. This is on and off but have noticed it comes on with stress. Will be really painful for 5/10 minutes then ease off to dull headache for hours.

I called 111 the other day and they said go to A&E. They checked me over and actually gave me antibiotics due to a sinus infection.

having spoken to my dad today to update him that I’d been feeling like this he told me my maternal GM and aunt had both had brain aneurysms whilst fairly young mid 30s/40. I am 33. Should I speak to gp again? Or run the course of antibiotics first and see if it is just down to sinuses.

Yes I would speak to your GP urgently. My recent experience is that A&E are not great at diagnosing, they are working fast with what’s in front of them and there’s a lot of guess work. This is important family medical history.

Given your family history and ongoing symptoms, it's a good idea to follow up with your GP once you've finished the antibiotics. They can reassess if needed and rule out other causes.
