So, DS had his MMR today. He is totally fine, no temperature even. I know that doctor (has he been struck off?) was totally discredited but can't help having ridiculous niggling doubts. Reassure me someone!!!!

you have done the right thing i have seen really really poorly children with measles.

the doctor who did the research if you can call it that had 10 subjects in his research study!!! look at all the studies for mmr his was the only one against it.

I have an autistic brother who is now 16yrs and would still encourage people to have children vacinated my family have never once considered it was because he had his mmr.

getbackinyouryurtjimjams Sorry - have changed name since you asked (on Sat ) where the "1 in10 getting measles need hospitalisation" came from.

Anyway, it came from the notice that's up in schools/nurseries/libraries etc round here about the measles outbreak. On headed paper with Health Protection Agency and Greenwich PCT logos, so not sure which of the two was the immediate source. Incidentally it also said 1 in 100 will need intensive care.

Someone better informed than me might know where the actual scientific source for these figures is, sorry I don't.

I think everyone has this panic. I know I did. Be reassured.
