Heavy bleeding and severe pain while in chemical menopause

this is going to be TMI so I apologise in advance, but I really need some advice as I am in such an incredible amount of pain.

I have fibroids and am on the waiting list for a hysterectomy. I’ve been on decapeptyl injections for 9 months to put me into chemical menopause, and then add back hrt. My bleeding has more or less stopped, just the odd light break through bleed.

2 days ago I started bleeding, it’s now extremely heavy and I am in agony - literally never felt pain like it (and I gave birth twice without pain relief!). I am using double sanitary protection - a super absorbency tampon and a sanitary pad together and I am soaking through them every hour or less and have large clots in the blood. The pain is off the charts, paracetamol isn’t touching the sides. Ive submitted an e-consult with the GP today and I’m awaiting a call back.

any ideas what could be causing this? I feel shaky and nauseous- not sure if that’s the pain or the blood loss.

I think you should go to hospital personally.

Hospital

I had a call from a nurse at the GP surgery, she’s prescribed Tranexamic acid and booked me in for a blood test tomorrow to have my iron checked. She didn’t seem too worried and opened the conversation with “have you tried a moon cup?” No, obviously not as it’s never happened before!!

The bleeding continued to get heavier through the night so I submitted another e-consult to the gp, they have sent me to hospital so I’m now waiting to be seen in the gynae ward. I genuinely never knew a human could bleed so much 😔
