Angry insect bite

Do I need to get this bite checked? I got an insect bite on my ankle on the 4 April. It was quite itchy for a few days. I noticed it didn’t heal. It kind of sunk in the middle. I have been applying germolene etc when I think of it. I’ve noticed it’s become quite angry and tender/ hot to touch in recent days. Any advice please?

Yes definitely need to get it checked. I’d probably try to find a pharmacist open tomorrow and ask them to look at it. I went through a summer a few years ago of about five infected insect bites in a few months and needed antibiotics. I used hibiscus scrub on my skin as well and that helped.

Thank you. I’ll give the pharmacist a go tomorrow.

It looks infected and the fact that it has done the opposite of clearing up also suggests this. Wash thoroughly with antiseptic, pur clean cold compresses on to reduce inflammation. Slap on the germolene cover with clean bandage. Take paracetamol. If it stays hot and red, Id almost be inclined to try 111 tonight. If it calms down then try pharmacist tomorrow
