Just that really I have experienced a very dry mouth at night and waking often for the loo, together with general tiredness (though we have young kids). I snore badly and am 2 stone overweight. I had a private test done at Hope to Sleep so proper consultant checked a 2 night taping and i have got severe apnoea. I see a general referral to the sleep clinic in Nottingham is months does anyone know in general how quickly they see you if you are severe and have a full report and diagnosis?

I don't know the answers to this one but the hope to sleep Facebook group is really helpful you might get more specific advice from your area on there. And although it sounds scary (also severe here) once you get used to CPAP your quality of life will improve so much!

DH has severe sleep apnoea and used a CPAP machine. The DVLA had to be notified, so if you drive the sooner you can get a CPAP machine the better.

He doesn't know whether the sleep apnoea caused his stroke or the stroke caused the sleep apnoea, but you are doing the right thing getting it investigated.

In the meantime I know there'll be a pile on for me saying it, but if you can lose the two stone it does help. Maybe Mounjaro might be available for you, or get into a calorie deficit.

DH has severe obstructive sleep apnea. The CPAP machine has transformed our lives.
I’m a poor sleeper and so was listening to his snoring and aware of how long he was stopping breathing. Once he went to the GP and was referred to the sleep clinic it all happened quite quickly.
He no longer falls asleep during the day and early evening. Hope you don’t need to wait too long.
