Anyone been to Poland for dental treatment

Can anyone recommend a dentist In Poland. Looking to get two root canals done. If you’ve had this done could they do it in one day/trip? It’s 2 molars. Any idea of price also welcome. I’m looking at 1.3k per tooth here.

I would shop around for prices in the UK first. My dentist (private) does root canal treatment from £450 per tooth.

Check here first. I have my dental implants done here because they are so affordable. They are eastern europeans. They are fantastic. Yes you can have root canals done in a day.
I live in Somerset and its worth the trip.

Before you book to go abroad for treatment, check what materials they use, check what their sterilisation and disinfection policies are. Check their inspection documents. Ask what happens if the tooth flares up , temporary dressing falls out or tooth cracks in between visits, as it’s unlikely a dentist in the UK would intervene if you are being treated elsewhere. Che m what the cost would be for an extra visit.
Ask if they use rubber dam and what type of files they use? Are they rotary and single use ( as that’s the gold standard)
what material do they use to fill the canal and what sealant do they place over the top? What final restoration will they use? Check that the dentist is well indemnified and insured against any adverse treatment or events. Check that the dentist is registered with the local regulatory bodies. Double check the names /translations for any meds/instructions that are given.

Honestly I don’t really know the answers to any of the above, and each country you might consider treatment will have slightly different standards.
what I will say is that the UK is highly regulated and inspected. It might be worth paying a bit more to get the treatment locally

Are you sure you can't find an NHS dentist locally? We have used the same NHS dentist for over 20 years. We moved house 2 years ago and have carried on with the same dentist - who is now 80 miles away - as I assumed that NHS dentists were like hen's teeth.

Then this morning, realizing my check up must be due, I phoned the dentist down the road to see if they had a waiting list for NGS treatment and was told they were open to new NHS patients so I've booked an appointment there for 2 weeks time. It's worth phoning around

Problem with going abroad is what happens if something needs to be checked afterward. That can happen with root canal. Would you go back to Poland?
Agree with PPs that it's better to look around for someone in the UK.

Oh I have 2x nhs dentists. Both refuse to do the root canal on the nhs as they say it’s complicated and needs special equipment (a microscope). Both will do it privately at over 1k per tooth.

Looks good, I am a long way from Brighton though. If anyone can recommend any cheaper dentists in the midlands or north I am all ears.

I think people are right, Poland is just too far.

Can your dentist refer you to the local dental hospital?

I’ve been referred and they refused the referral. Apparently they refuse most referrals

Looks like I’ve found somewhere an hour away for £650 a tooth which is better than the 1.2k a tooth all the local dentists are talking about (not including crowns). Just hope that’s the actual price….says that’s for a 4 root molar.

@FireAdvice when I had a very complicated tooth issue my NHS dentist referred me to Guys hospital in London as they are a major teaching hospital and it's good for dental students to experience complex cases (under supervision,!). I remember there were 4 possible hospitals I could have gone to, and one was in Birmingham so that might be a possibility?

FireAdvice · 13/04/2026 21:14

@AnnaQuayRules thanks. I got referred to Sheffield hospital and they said no 🤷🏻‍♀️
