fgs WHAT is wrong with me

Hello fellow mumsnetters - can you help?
Symptoms:
Mildly sore throat and general unwell feeling - headache, sore joints
Doc said viral
Had a blood test on Monday - back to docs next Wednesday for results but have not had a call from docs to say it is something BAD (HYPOCHONDRIA EMOTICON)
Sore throat went - had fatigue and muscle pain as well as joint pain
3 weeks on from initial sore throat - it's back - not that painful but my glands feel sore all over my body but particularly neck- and aches and pains/tiredness

Nasty virus? I am so fed up with this it is really getting me down I just want to feel well again!

Any ideas? Might get docs to swab throat - she said my tonsils were not red just throat so have discounted Strep throat (although we have had a run of impetigo with dc's - any link?)

I get that sometimes.

I always assume it's a sort of coldy/fluey thing and dose myself up on lemsips (even though I don't sneeze or cough or anything)

i have that too. bright red throat, swollen glands, achey. DS has had bad cold for about a week. i assume i'll get better soon. don't have time to be ill!

Sounds like Fibromyalgia. It may go in time if you rest and change your stress levels. Reflect on your lifestyle (eating, pressure, stress etc).

I had all the tests under the sun and nothing came up just got labelled with Fibro.

Just means that you have to change your lifestyle and may have to live with the slight flare ups.

If you help fight it, it will ease but best not panic about it as its very common.

Also look back on when it started - was there a stressful period or do you live with such high expectations that you cant possibly live up too, or are you a high acheiver?

Do not fall for the nutritional supplement stuff or waste any money listed on the web.

Come back to me in a few weeks if situation is the same.

sounds the same as me, i have had recurrent chest infections, infected sinusitis, i am now on my 5th lot of antibiotics this year, (3rd week in a row for this lot) have just finished my 3rd lot of steroids as it is affecting my asthma, (i havnt had asthma scince i was a teenager but now it is back with avengence)
last week i ached so much, in the front of my thighs and my lower back, i didnt know what to do with myself. This week dp had made me take 4 days off work to try and rest, but then im worrying about work as they really seem to make me feel guilty for being off ill. I do work in a hospital so just as i seem to be better i end up picking something else up.

but i am soo fed up with being ill all the b**y time!!!

Bacon , I was wondering about this and will discuss with my dox next week.
Am under a lot of stress - grieving loss of family members and am a perfectionist which actually drives me mad....
Will post back when I have seen dox.
