Does this mole look suspicious?

Hey guys,

I’ve had this keratin mole for a while, I had a doctor look at it several years ago. At that time it was smooth and the size of a half penny.

Over the last 2 years it has grown and now has this texture. It’s on the side of my breast, I have been getting pains in that breast recently also.

I am 43 and in perimenopause so know this can increase growth of keratin moles and cause breast pain.

Has anyone else got a mole like this?

No, to me it looks like a garden variety seborrheic keratosis.

Thank you. I thought that’s what it might be. I have had an influx of keratin moles over the last couple of years but this one has become annoying!

OP.

I would advise you to go to a GP again and not rely on mumsnet.

The advice is ABCDE in skin cancer/moles.

diameter

I will definitely see my GP, I would like to have all my moles checked anyway. I used to be a postie so it’s even more important to have them checked.

I have screenshot the ABCDE of moles I’ve never heard that before. Thank you for sharing that information I really appreciate it. I feel more should be made aware of this.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had a keratin mole like I have x

I had one that looked very similar to this. I have had it removed for cosmetic reasons, not because it was a problem in any way. I would get it checked out still though.

@Splat92 If you don't mind me asking, how was it removed please?

@Splat92 I want this one removed because my bra irritates it. I just don’t know if I can handle having it scraped off….its a sensory issue like nails down a chalkboard……or someone grating the dry skin from their heels 🤢

@Substance they are usually scraped off most often I was told by my GP

But they can also he frozen/burned off or removed with laser abrasion

My issue is just the thought of someone scraping my skin hurts my teeth and every nerve in my body…..like nails down a chalkboard 😵‍💫

I had it cut out. It was several years ago though, they may not do it like that anymore.
