Resting heart rate 85-100

Yesterday I had really bad heart palpitations which lasted an hour and a half. I could feel my heart pounding, I put my fitbit on and my heart rate was between 85-102, this was laying still on the sofa. It settled down and I was fine all evening but feeling like it is flaring up again, 85bpm. My normal resting heart rate is about 64. Does anyone else have this?

Me! It turned out I needed HRT. Which has almost fixed it, it can still get a bit haywire around my period but it's so much better. My resting heart rate is much better day to day.

Judging by your username, you might be in your 40s?. Which is definitely a time when perimenopause can ramp up. Even by late thirties. I would go to the doctor.

if you're symptomatic with palpitations you should really speak to an HCP IRL. IIRC fitbits use similar principles to a sats probe to pick up a HR and that may not be accurate (may be significantly underestimating) if you're having an abnormal rhythm. If it is somehow generating an ECG rhythm strip it's worth capturing that to show whoever you end up seeing.

See your GP, no one on here can advise.
