Low blood pressure ? Advice needed

when i bend down and then stand up again I go very dizzy / lightheaded, my vision goes grey or black for a few seconds and I can feel the blood pumping in my head. Sometimes I get tinnitus with it aswell.

Trying to do anything like gardening for e.g is useless as after it’s happened a few times I feel awful, have pressure in my head or headache and have to give up.

gp seemed non plussed and told me to strengthen my leg muscles , hydrate and have more salt.
it hasn’t worked.
anyone else like this ?

How quickly do you stand up? I get dotted vision all the time when I stand up too quickly, I have to remind myself to stand up more slowly. Assuming your GP has ruled out more serious things, then more water and salt is also the way to go - how much water do you drink a day? Are you adding lots of salt to your meals? But just standing more slowly also really reduces my dizziness.

Is it definitely caused by your blood pressure? Mine is routinely 90/55 and the only problem I have is if I stand up too fast, particularly first thing in the morning.

Have you been checked for some of the conditions that can cause low blood pressure? Diabetes, Parkinson’s, some heart conditions?

If you have and there’s no known cause, you can try drinking more water, eating little and often, and keeping your legs up when you sit.

@Vintageroses you can help thisnby squeezing your glutes VERY hard when you stand up. It helps the blood pressure.

Mine was 103/73 when I did a reading for my HRT recently and I often get dizzy when I stand up.

Increasing my ferritin stores helped, electrolyte drinks and more water.

I don’t know that it’s definitely low blood pressure @ReignOfError . It does seem to be on the low side when I’ve checked it. 99/60 was my last reading, I have a monitor here.
Haven’t been checked for other causes no. I have a lot of headaches, head pressure, off balance feeling and brain fog too which I was told were silent migraines years ago but tbh it’s never fit a clear pattern like I’d expect with migraine. it’s all having a big impact on what I can / can’t do daily.

Have low ,B.P for years, just as you describe, I collapsed in a street while on Holiday in Portugal, the dr told me to eat a salt sandwich and a small black coffee , then go back to see him hour later he took my bp it was perfect. Trouble is I didn't when I got home when simular happened, but I became tachycardia, so ecg that was ok a little blip but dr said it was normal, see G.P again as everyone us different

I have low blood pressure and get dizzy spells and occasional fainting as soon as it turns warmer. Have you tried hydrating more, and the other things GP has suggested? Drinking more definitely helps me.
