Rhinitis?

I’m not sure what is going on with me but every morning and evening my nose absolutely streams with water. I don’t have a cold and I’m absolutely fine the rest of the time

Is this Rhinitis? Have you had it, what did you do?

Could be hayfever? Which is seasonal allergic rhinitis. Try antihistamines such as fexofenadine

Willowkins · 04/04/2026 13:59

It can also be a side effect of some medications such as Sertraline

Hay fever or silent reflux/LPR.

How long have you had it? I start getting a runny nose in the mornings at this time of year. Based on timing, I 'think' its an allergy to tree pollen. Apparently flower and grass pollen come out at different times.

I use nasal spray version of fluticosone, not the oral tablets. You need to take it about a week before seeing an effect and I stay using it for a month or 2. I'm sensitive to caffeine so only have 1-2 coffees in the morning. This spray is a steroid, so I take it first thing when waking, otherwise, it keeps me awake at night if I take it later in the day. It works really well though once it kicks in. Check with the pharmacist that it won't interact with any of your other meds though.

@7238SM I’ve had it for a few weeks and have only just twigged that it’s at select times only. Your info is really helpful I’m going to try going to the pharmacy shortly thank you

Yes it sounds like hay fever (allergic rhinitis). Any kind of flower or tree pollen can set it off, not just grass.
