Just that really, have to have a low fibre diet for a couple of days beforehand, it says on the sheet white bread, fish I think, most likely white pasta/rice etc. Just wondering what others did. Going to find the day I need to cut off and fast from until the next day, hard as I have binge eating disorder. But needs must I guess.

I had mine a little over a year ago and even now when I read threads lime this I swear I can still taste the prep 🤢.

Like pp I had chicken breast, white fish ( both grilled ) lime cordial, lime jelly .
I tend to eat a lot of dried fruit so I cut that out completely about 2 weeks beforehand.

After the procedure I was given peanut butter on toast , I dont think I have ever tasted anything so nice !

Thankyou all so many helpful informative replies, I have read it all and will use all of it to help me with the rest of the preparation!
I always think with things like this it’s great once it’s over with, and you can tell the tale! 😃
Especially with something like this, which I have heard so much about it, and then it ends up being you that needs to have it done 🫣 so not something you want to experience as such lol, but good to be able to say you needed to have one done, and know what it entails.

So lemonade is okay then as clear of course, just thinking of a few liquid ideas going by the sheet, of what to have with prep tomorrow, and can continue on with until the 2 hrs before you need to stop clear liquids.

Hi all, just came back on to say Colonoscopy over and done with phew! It’s funny isn’t it when you have something coming up, and suddenly it’s all over with!
Had the sedation, others seemed to be almost put to sleep by it, with me I just felt sleepy immediately and relaxed me a bit. Then when I felt a part that was quite uncomfortable they gave me a bit more, from memory. Quite quick and then all done and over to recovery. It was then I could have quite happily gone to sleep lol.
Glad to see report said bowel preparation: excellent!
The prep stuff was horrible just the smell and consistency etc. But had plenty of lemonade sips with it.
They did say sometimes they find Polyop’s, if I spelt it correctly, which they did and are sending those off for testing, the doctor also took a biopsy from the top left and right corners of the bowel, so will be back in touch I guess when the results are back.

Thankyou all for your advice and experiences you had.

I am glad it went OK for you.
I couldn't have the sedation as I was alone .
I hope all your test come back clear.

I'm glad it went well (and is now over) and that you got top marks on your bowel prep!

Polyps are a common finding and unlikely to be anything to worry about. Hopefully your results come back promptly to confirm that.

Thanks, ah I see. Yes it would have been a bit tricky for me too if i didn’t. Yes hopefully. Which is always good news, but then not if it still doesn’t give you answers.

Thankyou. Yes it felt like such a build up, then all the waiting around in a gown lol and funny shorts. And then boom it’s over with.

I was surprised about the comment on bowel preparation. I mean I did stick quite well to the list, could have done better, went and added rosemary to chicken cooked it. And was worrying that was going to be an issue.

Yes they did say they can be common, hopefully it will all be fine.
