Lower right abdominal pain, nausea and possible UTI, should I go to A&E?

So I've had pain in my lower right abdomen for a while now, it's always there dull pain but sometimes sharp pain, early this morning I woke up and was shaking and pain was quite bad and took some paracetamol and went back to bed, the pains still there this morning, feel quite nauseous, haven't ate much the last few days and had lower back pain. Went to the doctors on Monday and she said possibly a UTI but haven't had results come back for that yet, debating whether to just go A&E or wait for results of urine sample to come bsck first? Also keep pooing more despite hardly eating.
Anyone had the same experience?

Sounds like a uti. Contact your gp again. It’s not an a&e matter, in my opinion

Did your GP do a pregnancy test? Worsening abdominal pain can be a medical emergency. I'd start by ringing your GP and making then aware it's got worse

@KittytheHare even if the doctor gave me Antibotics for 3 days and I only have one dose left and the pain is still there?

Ring the GP surgery again and see what they suggest ? if they are highly suspicious uti they might start antibiotics before lab result back.
Do you have your appendix?

@Eskarina1 I done a pregnancy test even tho I've had my tubes tied and it was negative

I was given nitrofurantoin last time I had a UTI and it didn't touch the sides of the infection but made me even more unwell with nausea, upset tummy and even worse abdominal pain along with a raging fever/shivers.

Ring your GP and say that you don't think it's working.

This is not an A&E situation, you need to speak to your GP again.

Yeah thats the AB she prescribed to me too, she did say it could be other things like appendicitis but wasent sure

Did the GP say to return to them if the course of antibiotics they prescribe doesn't address the problem? (They usually do!)

No never said anything like that, was only a 3 day course too, so only got one dose left tonight, the doctor didn't seem bothered tbh, just kept shaking her head

Noone can tell you that is 'isnt' an A&E job because only you know how much pain you are in.

Doctor just rang me and said my urine was normal so not a UTI and to make another doctors appoitment. Anyone any ideas?

Then it's back to the GP.

It's neither an accident nor an emergency.

Is the pain getting worse? Do you have a fever? Are you able to function normally/walk etc?
I think it needs checking out asap, could be something serious like appendicitis or ovarian torsion. Give 111 a call and see what they say

It could be appendicitis.

By the way OP, u can get a tub of those dipsticky UTI test strips to check yourself at home in the future. Which is exactly what they do at a&e to check first to justify a lab test. If dipstick clear then at least u would know without guessing.

Call 111, as soon as possible as it may be a grumbling appendix..

And you know this how? Could be appendix or a nunber of other things!

It's mostly a dull ache that's been around for days. It sounds perfectly within.the remit on of a GP.

If she goes to A&E, given it's not obviously an emergency she'll be waiting a while after triage, so surely better to sleep and go to the GP tomorrow morning.

Please demand a scan. My sister had the same and her appendix had been burst for a week before they finally agreed to scan her. She became very unwell… demand a scan

Follow the GP's advice and return to see them.

Went to doctors again and said it could be diverticulosis or my ovaries and been given tablets to take for a week and if no improvement then to go back for more tests
