Persistent neck lump for six months, referred for ultrasound, feeling anxious

I've had a lump in my neck slightly below my ear for about six months now. I just kept ignoring it and figuring it would go away. Went to the drs today and she said yes there is a lump, about the size of a grape, smooth and mobile...she's done some bloods and referred for ultrasound. I'm freaking out thinking it's something really bad. She said it's unlikely to be a swollen lymph nodes as it's persisted for such a long time, but th fact it hasn't grown is reassuring. I'm a health anxious person at the best of times but trying to chill out a bit (hence why I left it so long). I'm young-ish early thirties, I am massively overweight so no weight loss or anything, only other symptoms is just being unusually tired and getting nausea, body aches alot, I also get some trouble swallowing sometimes,it feels like my throat is just completely closed if that makes sense? I don't know if it's related or if I'm just linking it all up, ive generally feel a bit rubbish most of the time when I think about it. Had anyone had something similar and it turned out to not be anything really bad? I'm panicking thinking it's cancer or something.

Nope. Never even got my ultrasound. Lump still there. Not got bigger though, Dr not bothered.

What happened with the ultrasound? Go back to the dr and find out.

I switched GP surgery and a different Dr looked she said she couldn't even feel it so I put her fingers where it was and she said it feels like a lymph node and I said I've had it for a year nearly now and she said it's a lymph node lol said she would refer but when I looked on the appointment notes, no mention of the neck lump (I was there for something else when I mentioned it)

I agree with @WhiteJeans7 . Push for a second opinion.

I have a lymph node in the same position on neck as in your diagram mine has been there at least 23 years!
I have had two ultrasounds the most recent one in May this year as I noticed the lymph node had got bigger in January and it didn’t go down so I asked for a private scan and got seen about ten days later
The consultant said all was normal and apparently I have many lymph nodes up under my hairline but I can’t feel them.. the first scan I had was just before Covid for the same reason that it had grown all was normal then too
No explanation as to why the lymph node has stayed up twenty odd years but I’ve been reassured so all is good
