Lump behind ear - possible lymph node

DD who is 16 years old mentioned that she could feel a lump behind her ear. I took a look and it’s a marble sized lump which is firm and painless. No recent illness. GP appointment made for 2weeks time. Help calm me down as everything I read suggests reactive lymph nodes are painful. Anyone have similar and not sinister.

Quite likely to be a ganglion and harmless.

When my son was about 10 he had a very hard lump come up behind his ear. Wasn't painful. He hadn't been unwell. When I took him to the GP she said it was a lymph node (they're much harder than I expected them to be) and when I said that he hadn't been unwell she looked at his scalp - and there was a little sore spot, that he'd been picking at and some germs had crept in. The lymph node was just doing it's job by popping up to catch said germs. She did say the lymph node nearest the break in the skin is usually the one that pops up so maybe she has got a cut/scratch/some break in the skin nearby.
