Braces and curry

Can anyone tell me if there is any chance that my daughter's braces will stain eating curry. She has grey/silver bands. We've been invited to a meal.
Thanks.

Yes, mine always used to, but it fades after a few days.

I remember mine going a brighr lime green colour. Think they started off light blue.

Yes, but you can make an appointment to get the bands changed the next day. (It's the little bands that stain, not the actual braces.)

Thank you. Are your bands silver? x

Thank you. Is this with nhs? Not sure she'd be able to with the orthodontist she goes to.

It’ll be fine. If really worried get something dry like tikka. My friend had white brackets and they really stained. I had metal and never had an issue. Does she not have spare bandage can change herself? If not definitley ask for them.

Could she just choose a non staining dish if it’s in a restaurant?
Or take her own if it’s at someone’s home.
The other options are not worth the bother.

Curry stained my clear/pearl bands neon yellow. Grey/silver might hold up a little better, but I wouldn’t risk it.

What colour are her braces OP? Are you referring to the brackets and wires staining or the actual bands on the brackets? If she’s got silver braces then there’s not much to worry about. No staining will be visible. If she’s got white ones the little bands on the brackets do stain, however they change them at every appointment anyway and if the next appointment is far away if you call the orthodontist and explain they’ll usually change them for you before that for a relatively small fee.

I think it’s the turmeric in some recipes - that’s what my daughter finds makes them go neon yellow - clear bands. So she could try avoiding dishes with turmeric? Or other colourings if they might use synthetic colours? (I wouldn’t think so, but it’s hard to know.) no idea about silver bands, but would think they would be fine.
