Ds 14 titrating up on ADHD meds. Not sure if they are helping and if these are side effects?

My son has been on Medikinet for about three months now. He's just titrated up to 15 milligrams I've asked school whether or not they've seen an improvement or no change or him getting worse, but I can't get them to give me any feedback which is really annoying.

He goes to a small special needs school. last night he told me that he's poop has turned Black and I had a quick Google and it seems that that can be side effects of the drug, however he's not in any pain and there's no Tenderness. The really annoying thing is that I'm not really sure whether the drugs were helping him.

I thought were first that they were but recently his behaviors got a bit wors. At school last week he smashed his laptop and got in fight which he has never done in these entire life but when I say to school do you think the drugs are helping or making him worse I just get complete and I non engagement from them.

His mood was very low before taking the meds. I don't know if I need to ask to try a different ADHD med now?

I did say to school I'm worried about him but they won't engage beyound their own plans. They just won't answer the questions about the medication.

Irritability can be a side effect. You really need to talk to his team. ADHD meds can be ineffective if too low, and cause too many side effects of too high, but also different drugs can be more/less helpful.

I found lisdexamphetamine unhelpful but dexamphetamine more helpful (although I'm not on the right dose yet).

DD3 found methylphenidate unhelpful, lisdexamphetamine unhelpful, and dexamphetamine helpful. Although it's a pain to need a lunch time dose.

He only went up a dose a week ago. From 10 to 15mg. But I don't think this drug is the one for him. Is it worth talking to his Dr now or give it more time?
