What on earth is wrong with me?????????

Just got dd2 in her buggy to go to post some letters, got to the door and couldn't go out. Now I am sat here shaking and can't stop crying. I am on ad's and have been quite a while, but NEVER experienced anything like this.

I am on my own, dh is at work till 7.30pm and dd1 is at school till 3.15.

Thinking about maybe going and having a nap and seeing if I feel any better after that, dd2 is due for a nap anyway.

You maybe coming down with something, yes go and have a nap with dd2, hope your better soon..

You poor thing? Have you got to collect dd from school later? Will you be okay?

Yes, I've got to get dd later, I am just waiting for dd2 to finish her yoghurt and fruit, then I'll go to bed. DH won't be able to come home and collect her for me as he doesn't drive.

Could be panic attack? Had them a lot after mugged 15 yrs ago, then once or twice came back when v stressed.

What helped: breathing deeply (in thru nose, out thru mouth, just like for labour pains). Listening to favourite music / radio. No caffeine for a couple of days.

Talk to GP about potential side effects of a/ds?

Agree with essbee about panic attacks. I had a couple in the 1st two weeks of taking ad's.

Sounds like you've definitely had a panic attack. I suffered really badly with them, until my Dr put me on Beta Blockers. These slow down the adrenalin flow and stop the symptems of panic - ie palpatations, overbreathing, sweaty palms, dizziness, etc. I don't need them now, as I've broken the pattern. Panic attacks can continue if you panic about having another panic attack...if you know what I mean. You have to break that pattern. You've got to keep telling yourself that nobody has ever died from a panic attack. The symptems you're experiencing are just from overbreathing. If you're feeling calm now, just breath in and out very fast for 30 secs and you'll begin to feel light headed and wiered but when you start to breathe normally again, you soon feel normal again. Remember that you can make a panic attack dissappear by breathing slower. Take a deap breath, count to 5 and breathe out again. You were probably tense before going out...Maybe late and rushing, or stressed with your child, etc. When you're feeling tense, drop your shoulders. You can't breathe properly, when your chest muscles are tense. Whatever you do, don't avoid going out! Each time you go out ,it will get easier. Thanks for your replies, I went to bed with dd2, we didn't go to sleep but curled up and watched a dvd. I still felt shocking when dh came home from work at 7.30 so went to bed soon after. Not felt 100% today, but had some committments this morning with dd1's school, this put me in awkward situation, where I didn't want to be.

Hope I don't have a funny turn today, don't think I could handle it.

Still don't know whats up with me, still not feeling 100% went into town yesterday with dd2 and dh and couldn't wait to get home, once home I feel fine. Think I may have to pay a visit to the doctors on monday.
