Black blood?

I am, I think, peri-menopausal and have been for some years. But, I am still having regular periods.

This period i'm having now started off with a heavyish bleed almost straight away and it was virtually black. I do get dark brown blood at the beginning and end but never this dark or as much.

I've tried googling but not much is coming up so I thought i'd ask you lot. Should I be concerned?

Blood is black when it's a bit old, iyswim. I wouldn't be worried by this.

Had blackish blood yesterday

i always have blood like that at the start of my cycle....very thick as well > been like this for years, doesnt give me any probs at all....

I sometimes have black blood. I know how worrying it looks. Have also tried googling it but with no luck. Like NQC said, it's most likely to be old blood and nothing to worry about.
