Skinny/slim fat

I’m 53 and slim (ish) but I have a layer of fat. I’m vegan and do a lot of yoga, but I have belly fat and have to get large size bras (if eg a sports bra sized s,m,l) and still get a wodge of fat where it cuts in.
what can I do? What type of exercise (I can’t swim due to a pre-existing condition but anything else is fine).

Weight lifting. Heavy weights. And eat more protein. Sounds like you are “skinny fat” look it up, only solution is increasing muscle mass.

I know its a cliche but reformer pilates has got rid of all my excess visceral fat and I feel so much better and stronger.

Not a cliche, I’ve never heard of it! Off to google thank you.

Thank you. I’ve never really understood the role of protein in all this but I could definitely do more there

I do reformer Pilates 4x a week. As well as weight lifting. It’s hard to tell exactly what benefits what (as doing both) but it helps with strength mobility core balance etc. Either way it’s helped as it’s increased strength and hence muscle mass.
