Ear problem or something else ?

So for about a month now I’ve had 3 episodes of dizziness . Very hard to explain the feeling but it’s like I’ve had a drink and anything I try to read starts blurring out ! These episodes have only lasted about 15 minutes. I remember having these same dizzy spells as a teenager which usually were followed by panic attacks but I can’t recall what caused it .
I have also been suffering abit with my ears, not only have they felt tender but it sounds like my heart is beating inside my ear drums . Few headaches but nothing deliberating, muscle aches mostly on shoulders and neck .
i have suffered with my iron levels over the years so am wondering if it’s possibly that again! I am waiting on a drs appointment which hopefully will be soon!
has anyone experienced this before ?

Iron deficiency does have some odd side effects. Worth checking to see if any are familiar. Dizziness is definitely one of them.

An ear infection can affect the organ, the vestibular system, in your inner ear that controls balance, it’s a 3d spirit level that feeds back info to our brain telling us which way up we are. As we get older crystals form in the vestibular system that interfere with our balance. Your GP can show you a manoeuvre to clear them.

Virtigo is common during late perimenopause. No idea how it causes problems but I use to suffer with it if I got up in the night to go to the loo and didn’t switch the lights on. Probably some sort of malfunction since the brain uses both visual cues and feedback from vestibular system to orientate balance. It would come on rapidly and I would have to sit up in bed for 30mins until it sorted itself out due to intense nausea.

What were you doing when the dizzy spells came on?
