Can a diluted urine sample give false negative

I got one of those test strips from Amazon but my sample was clear coloured so I think that means it’s diluted which is probably likely as I had been drinking a lot of water.

Could that be the reason that it gave me a negative for infection.

I would assume that to be correct.

Maybe try again first thing in the morning

It can. Best to use first wee for that reason. Also some infections aren’t detected by dipsticks.

You need a more concentrated sample to be more accurate.

I will try first thing in the morning. I am never sure how accurate these things are.
