Night sweats

I’ve been having loads of night sweats recently and wondered if anyone could recommend anything?

I’m perimenopausal I think, 2 periods in the last 5 months.

Pretty sure there’s nothing else going on as I had to have some blood tests and scans on a cyst last year.

I wasn’t planning on HRT yet as I don’t have any other symptoms, but I would do it if it helps!

I have a Mirena coil, needs replacing later this year.

Any advice would be amazing to help me sleep 😴

Night sweats is a reason to see your GP.

However I only have hot flushes at night- so took me a while to work out they were hot flushes and not night sweats. Might be the same for you.

Thank you for replying. I think they’re night sweats because I don’t feel hot on the inside, which people tend to describe those as? I just wake up soaking all over, even down my legs and hands!

This has been happening to me as well op. I’m 41. Have requested my bloods be checked to see if I’m perimenopausal

Personally, I would see the doctor, OP. Just to rule out anything else

There is no blood test that can reliably show menopause or perimenopause. GPs should prescribe based on symptoms and guidance advises against blood tests

Just to add, night sweats and hot flashes are the same thing. The difference is their timing.

Oh I didn’t know that?

A new drug has just been approved in England that treats sweats & flushes without being HRT. It's called Veoza.

Some people seem to get good results from sage supplements.

But talk to doctor first.

No...a hot flush can be dry heat

MissyB1 · 12/03/2026 12:32

I have quite severe hot flushes at night, but rarely sweat, the heat is inside. My dh however, who has a serious health diagnosis has night sweats which drench the sheets. I would see your GP just to talk it through.
