Three days ago i arranged an emergency treatment after severe pain. They told me the filling had broken. i won’t need penicillin for the pain . If pain doesn’t stop i may need a root canal. i was charged £45 for tge emergency booking plus £150 for treatment

The pain hasn’t stopped and got worse so this morning i rang them. They told me the dentist who saw me won’t be back till friday and only available st 5pm. if i saw someone today i will have to pay the £45 emergency treatment fee (i would not if i waited till friday to see the original dentist). If root canal is needed it starts at £450. i still will have to pay for tge emergency treatment (£150 & booking fee £200 in total)even though it didn’t stop the pain

Is this how private dentist charges works? Do i have grounds to appeal Against the charges?

Is this your regular dentist? I am on a monthly plan with a private dentist and have never been charged for an emergency appointment.

As a regular patient that sounds a bit shit. Not like you were some random wanting an appointment.
