Does anyone know a good place to buy them? As far as I can see from the Boots and LLoyds webpages, chemists don't do them. I've got to give a week's course of antibiotics to DD and she's an expert at spitting out if I use a spoon. We got a few from the hospital but not enough. I don't mind buying online.

I've always been given one when ds has had medicine. I'm sure if you asked at any pharmacy they'd just give you one over the counter.

Can't you reuse them though? (This is going to turn out to be another occasion where my standards of hygiene are found wanting isn't it..)

Susie go back to docs i got one when i had to give dd ab's they should give you one free.
You can re use them.

susiemj · 17/06/2008 15:02

The doctor told me not to reuse them - but then didn't give me enough?????

Do you take them apart to wash them?

you can reuse and sterilise each time (for tiny baby)
yes, take them apart, wash well and sterilise in boiling water

dd has been using them for years(sn) I reuse them for about a week. wash them with the washing up. then uses hot water. but dd is 13
wish you lived near me as then I could give you some.
ask the doc to put them on the pescription next time.

susiemj · 17/06/2008 15:19

Ok - I'm going to reuse. It seems a shame to throw away such a nifty bit of equipment.

Thanks

I always reuse syringes - I've got quite a collection now. Just take them apart and wash in hot soapy water and let them air dry. The bottle of nurofen for children comes with a dosing syringe and I use them for all sort of other medicines too e.g. calpol, cough mix, etc

TheBlonde · 17/06/2008 20:04

I reuse them
They sell them in most chemists incl our local boots

susiemj · 17/06/2008 21:53

Do they sell them in Boots? I checked the website but couldn't see any. I wasn't able to leave the house today as DD ill. I'll send DH tomorrow to see.

I have washed our used ones, though. I don;t see why they can't be reused.

they have to supply them with kids meds if you request

ask for them

TheBlonde · 17/06/2008 22:04

Yes definitely sell them in boots about 27p or something
