A few days I would have thought.

I’ve had it done twice, I was back at work in 2 days both times (office based) and felt healed in about 5/6 days

Hi, thanks for the reply, I appreciate you sharing your experience. That’s a quick recovery. I had the op on Monday afternoon so today is day 6 post-op and I don’t feel anywhere close to recovered. I still have a large open wound down there which is still bleeding fairly heavily. Maybe we had slightly different procedures? Mine was done under general anaesthetic and then the wound was left open (no stitches) to heal from the inside out.

Yes mine was done under GA and the wound left open both times too, I think I must just heal quickly. Hope you’re feeling better soon!

I have done everything to avoid this because my doctor told me that the core recovery was a solid 3 weeks and it would take 6-8 to actually feel good.

I am currently approaching the end of my second week (it will be 2 weeks this Monday). At the moment, I still have some pain and bleeding/oozing but it is not too bad. I think by the end of week 3 I will be fully healed. I will let you know how I get on as time goes by and maybe that will help you make a decision on whether to continue avoiding it or bite the bullet 🤞

Did you get this done on the NHS?
I haven’t done anything about mine as felt too embarrassed/stupid to go to the GP about it

I would guess at least three weeks as per my anal fissure treatment. Even then I shouldn't have gone back to work at week three and left it another two. I was still uncomfortable and not eating properly.

Hello! Yes, I did. If it’s bothering you, definitely see someone about it. I know it’s cliche but it’s their job so it’s completely normal to them, and they’ve probably seen much worse anyway! 😆
