Eczema or scabies

DS has had eczema on and off since he was little - and historically is has been worse in the winter.
He started getting an itching rash just after Christmas, but it seems a bit different from how it usually presents. It isn’t just behind his knees and inside elbows, it’s also on his legs and on his arms. It heals up quite quickly, but another patch flares up.
How will I know if it’s scabies instead of eczema? Can anyone share their experience of scabies?
Could a pharmacist help?

Scabies wouldn’t just disappear then reappear. It would get progressively worse if left untreated and the likelihood would be that everyone else in the house would also get it - Scabies is highly contagious. It generally starts with itching between the fingers and tracks up the hands because most people catch it by holding hands.

Thanks - it’s not getting progressively worse, but we haven’t been able to get on top of it. Would it be obvious by now?
Maybe it’s something else entirely.
