Palm oil obsession

What’s the recent obsession with palm oil? It seems like every person on Facebook is frothing at the mouth every time Easter eggs are mentioned. There’s been campaigns for years about how it’s destructive to the environment but nobody batted an eyelid so I’m confused why they’re all on the bandwagon now? Like I agree that the quality of our food is getting worse and we’re paying more and that’s a problem but it seems the people moaning don’t have a problem eating McDonald’s and hotdogs

My 'obsession' is as much about how vile the so called chocolate is when it contains palm oil. I am amazed people but this crap. If we voted with our feet we would get better quality foods.

They’re ’on the bandwagon’ now because the environmental message has got through. It takes a long time for campaigns to really enter the public consciousness. Also, there are now a lot more palm oil-free products available than there used to be.

Previous campaigns mostly focused on the harm it does to animal habitats, but more recently there’s been a lot of coverage about the fact that palm oil is really quite bad for you - I assume because it’s a saturated fat and high in cholesterol.

Not sure why it matters to you. They’re not stopping you from consuming any Easter eggs you want.

Same. Shocked how bad it tastes - its most noticable in chocolate and most people won't tolerate companies fucking with the taste of their chocolate 😂

its all over TikTok/facebook/youtube that’s why,chocolate is disgusting now but palm oil is in so many things it’s quite alarming.

There are a small number of people who are speaking out because they know what they're talking about.

There are a HUGE number who are simply jumping on a bandwagon for the sake of moaning about something, and they are the reason that things don't get taken seriously, because there just ends up a lot of shouting and no actual information or education.

it's bad for the environment and disgusting. and no i don't eat mcdonalds or hotdogs 😂
