Flucloxacillin - night time dose

DD just been prescribed liquid Flucloxacillin for an ear piercing infection and it’s four doses per day spread every 4-6 hours so will have to wake her up around 1am 😢

Apparently you’re supposed to stay upright for half an hour after taking the medicine to reduce risk of irritation. Has anyone managed this? Waking her up at 1am is bad enough but then keeping her awake for 30 mins?! She is 9. Thank you! x

My DS and DD have just had a course of this last week. It’s so hard trying to fit the doses in. They had it at 6am (1hr before breakfast) 11am (1hr before lunch) 3pm then at 7pm. The pharmacist advised me as long as it was 4hrs apart it’s okay.

I'm on this currently, adult obviously so may be different but I think as long's you leave 4 hours between each does it's fine. I'm doing as soon as I wake in the morning so about an hour before breakfast, about an hour before lunch, an hour before dinner then bedtime.
