Child had op young curvature was bad! 90% plus. However, he still gets pain in back and in his leg obviously had physio but no real improvement. School are getting funny re attendance as he has been sent home countless times even after painkillers. Some days it just is really bad that he can’t physically go.

physio did write to school for adjustments which have been done.

Also being referred to physio again.

Thanks

I’m sorry to say that I still have pain after 27 years. When I told my surgeon approx 5 years post surgery he said ‘I operated to stabilise your spine, not to take away your pain.’

Sorry I don’t have anything more positive to add.

Where is your son’s spine fused?

Yes mine was similar. I could actually feel my internal organs moving into position post op

I always thought I got out of breath quickly as I wasn’t very fit, but it was because my lung capacity was compromised

My surgery was T10-L5

I find ice packs help, I can’t bear heat on my back. There’s also a freezing gel that you can put on - sorry if you’ve tried these already it’s just things that I’ve found helpful
