Cold/Flu won’t go?

Apologies if this seems ridiculous- I suffer horrendously with health anxiety and could use some advice I guess. After a couple of weeks of a non-productive cough, I think I caught virus from my mum last week.
My symptoms are now productive cough (clear/white sometimes yellow phlegm), mild temp on and off, a blocked nose causing mild sinus headache and a general feeling of being unwell/spaced out/woolly headed (if that makes sense?!). It started last Friday and doesn’t seem to be getting much better aside from coughing less.
I’m not ill enough to be in bed- i’m able to go out, do a food shop etc, but keep feeling a mild temp and feeling unwell and start to panic.
GP gave me amoxicillin for 5 days which didn’t do anything and covid test is negative.
Has anyone else had anything like this? Less than flu, more than a cold, lasting more than a week with no real sign of budging? :(

I'm not surprised that the antibiotics didn't do anything given that it sounds like a virus. It's pretty normal for a standard cold to last a couple
of weeks.

I started with a rotten cold a fortnight ago, was really really unwell Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday. I was at work on the Thursday and really coughing and feeling awful, Friday I WFH but felt miserable, then was in bed most of Saturday and Sunday - had to cancel all my plans and couldn’t even eat! After that I’ve been going about my business as normal, but still really sinus-y and have a horrid cough.

I think it’s pretty standard to have a lingering cough from a cold and am just hoping it goes soon!

I’m sorry you feel rough too @Judystilldreamsofhorses
I think I’m feeling worried as I keep getting a mild temperature on and off despite other symptoms slowly fading which feels backwards. And just feel spaced out still- feels very odd and sends me into a panic of why it isn’t going etc :(

I had similar for weeks last autumn, I was into week 4 before I started feeling properly better. Still not convinced it wasn’t Covid despite a negative test as it took me ages to fully recover.

I felt the same for basically the last four weeks - a bit better with full on rest but as soon as I did anything wiped out again. Feeling just about over it now xx

Have had something similar for weeks. Had two days off but still have intermittent spaced out head, cough, sniffles and temperature. A lot of my colleagues are the same.

I’m the same, I’m dripping snot and thick with horrible phlegm. Week 2 so sounds like I’ve gotta put up with it for a bit longer. Just feel awful - though know it’s pretty normal tbh

If it helps anyone I went to the pharmacist the other week and she said they were seeing loads of people with colds that just won’t go, last forever, at the moment. Safety in numbers etc. We are in NE Scotland and had 21 days of consecutive rain/no recorded sunshine in Jan/Feb so she blamed that!
