Cold/flu for 3 weeks and counting... tips/advice

I'm very rarely ill, so this is even more of a battle for me.

I came down achy, chills, shivering and with a tight chest and dry cough 3 weeks ago. After about 5/6 days, the dry cough turned into a very chesty cough and I was constantly coughing up mucus, the mucus thinned out and went clear and I started to feel a bit better for a couple of days, then on Monday evening, the chills, shivering, aching muscles, etc started all over again and I'm completely wiped out. For the past 2 days I've just been laid on the sofa all day sweating and drifting in and out of sleep.

I've been taking a multivitamin, extra vitamin D, vitamin c with zinc and probiotics, adding ginger, turmeric, pepper and chilli to as many meals as I can, drinking clove tea with honey and plenty of water, eating lots of fruit and veg, resting as much as I can, hot baths, I even used a sauna to try to sweat it out of me, but nothing seems to be working.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks that they use to fight off the cold/flu virus?

First Defence spray. Unlikely to help now but I’ve used it in situations where I’d been concerned about catching something and haven’t caught anything

mum told me the docs and nurses were advised to use it during Covid but not sure how true that is

I find that day and night nurse is the only thing that helps me. The day nurse keeps me awake during the day and the night nurse ensures that i can get a good night's rest.
