My 16 month dd tripped and banged her head today in a shoe shop.
I decided not to to put her in her buggy, thought I would try her with some reins on.
As I sat down she spun round tripped over her own feet and fell backwards.
Her head went with a right crack on the floor.
I scooped her up and she was holding her breath like they do.... as if thats not scary enough.
Then just went all limp and floppy in my arms, her eyes rolled backwards and she closed them

To put it bluntly I S*t myself and just stood up and shouted someone to help me.
A lady grabbed her off me and knelt down on the floor and layed her flat ( I 29 weeks and lady thought I was about to drop)
DD then came round and started screaming which they assured was a good sign.
Ambulance was called but seemed back to her cheery self by the time they arrived.

Never been so sacred, sorry to waffle on just needed to share or get it off my chest. Still feeling sick about it.

Did they check her over at the hospital?

cazzybabs · 15/06/2008 17:23

McDreamy · 15/06/2008 17:23

belgo · 15/06/2008 17:26

That's very scarey. I know ,it's happened to my dd1 several times. You did the right thing in calling the ambulance.

Thankyou she seems fine now they checked her over in the Ambulance, and said if I was happy she was her normal self then go home but if she sick or I worried go to A&E or ring an Ambulance again.
God they worry you sick dont they, suppose it gets worse.

I will be so suprised if this baby doesnt make an early appearance with the shocks Ive had this week.
Mum broke her arm begining of week as one of her young horses kicked her and dragged her on her belly (she wouldnt let go, silly women)
Then sister was in car accident with her 3 kids yesterday so spent all day at hospital thankfully they ok too.
What a week

Sorry to hear about your day, glad your daughter is okay.

When I was pregnant, I had a string of disasters happen, in my first few weeks of pregnancy, my mum fell and broke her elbow, and it just went from there - dad had to go to hospital with blood pressure problems, then my mum, my gran was admitted to hospital with heart problems, my step brother was diagnosed with cancer, my sisters BIL died, my family went on holiday and two of them were involved in a car accident - I used to joke it was their fault that I got signed off work with high blood pressure!!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 15/06/2008 17:53

My god poor you, dont know how I would cope.
Thats an awful lot to deal with especially all close together.

I felt so sorry for my sister she is currently in agony from 2 car accidents one as a passanger and one where a community bus pulled out on her and sent her into a brick wall.
I begged her to go see my chirpractor for a bit of pain relief and advice.
She saved up the £50 consultation fee and ten mins after someone drove into back of her.

Family joke that she must ahve killed a robin with all the bad luck she has.
Believe me its worse than all this
