Pinching pain in knee

I've had a pain on the inside/front part of my knee just below the joint for a couple of weeks, it's completely fine when my leg is straight and when I bear weight on it but when I go to bend it it's really painful like a sharp pinching pain. I originally thought I'd knocked it and bruised it but the pains only got worse and there is no bruising or swelling.
has anyone else had this or could hazard a guess as to whats wrong? I intend to try get a gp appointment at some point but they're like hens teeth.

My Rheumatoid Arthritis started a a pinching pain in my knees. I don't want to worry you, and it probably isn't RA, but it's worthwhile getting it checked out because it's one of those diseases that the sooner you get proper treatment, the better the outcome because it can prevent future joint damage and disfigurement.

And don't get brushed off as I was for a while with a blood test not showing rheumatoid factors. Apparently that can be common. So if you find steps etc becoming diffilcult: persist.
