Hi, i am due to have my op next month and am getting a bit nervous.
just wondered if there was any one else out there who'd had one and how long it takes to a) recover (i do a physical job) and b) if they felt it made a difference and finally c) did they suffer worse PMT than before (have heard it a side effect)
many thanks

my mum had one a few months ago. she recovered really quickly, able to nip out to the shops a few days later. she's not afaik had any bleeding at all, so looks like op has completely stopped her periods.

I had it done last month, felt fine afterwards, discharge lasted about 3 weeks.
Had op on a Tuesday and took it easy for the following 3 days then started back to work on the Monday.
Have just had my 1st period since op and took spare clothes and all the usual thick pads with me, but I had just 2 days of a slight bleed and only needed to use small thin pads , If it stays like this I will be so happy . Having my 6 week check up this week.
PMT I felt about the same but didn't feel half as tired as I used to.

Thanks for putting my mind at rest.

cant cope with the pain & flooding anymore but was mostly concerned with the after effects as had heard it could be up to 6 weeks discharge & could get horrendous pmt, have that anyway so dont want it to get worse!!!!!!!!!

glad to hear some of the tiredness might go too, as hit the brick wall every afternoon then again early evening. So hopefully i'll be back to full steam.

many thanks
