Anyone had a hip replacement?

I'm off to the GP soon, but while I wait, when your hip pain began, was it on the outside of your hip? I always assumed it would be, but over the last 3 months, have developed pain on the inside of my leg where the femur/hip goes into the pelvic girdle. Is that where your pain began, or am I possibl/hopefully looking at eg a trapped nerve?

Just want to be prepared for my GP visit .. .

I didn't have pain in my hip. I went to the GP because I was struggling with my walking. I went to ask for physiotherapy to help with that. I thought it was arthritis in my leg. I didn't believe the physio attached to the GP's surgery when he immediately told me it was my hip causing the problem and he refused to give me any treatment but referred me for a hip xray.

The xray showed my hip.was in very poor condition and I was put on the waiting list for surgery straight away. I was on the list for about 6 of 7 months and by the time I had the surgery I could hardly walk because of the pain in my leg but had virtually no pain in the hip itself
