I had shingles 2 weeks ago but it was misdiagnosed. I had swollen eye and forehead rash. The eye is not swollen now but it was stinging and my head was stinging just above the eye. The sti gi g is greatly reduced and u hardly use painkillers now. My GP wanted me to go to the emergency eye treatment centre as my optic nerve might be damaged. I went along and had various tests done and the conclusion was that I have no shingles in the eye. No mention of optic nerve. I now have no idea if shingles was ever in the eye. No idea why eye was stinging.
Im feeling much better but im physically and mentally exhausted
