DD23 had a bad viral infection 2 weeks ago. Week off work, went a bit yellow. Was given 4 days of steroids and is on road to recovery now.

Hospital said blood tests ok this week but she has really dry flaky hands. She’s been using cream but they are still very flaky.

Has anyone any suggestions of what she should do / use to improve them?

Could she put a thick layer of hand cream then disposable gloves to help it really get in to her skin??? Hope she's better soon x

Hello op. Have you been tested for b12? That’s a common symptom of a deficiency. Worth a punt

Hope you’re all better soon

Not sure if they tested her for B12, though it was a full blood count. Results aren’t showing on App as she’s just changed Dr’s 😐

No medical background in terms of giving advice, but I get actual cracks on my hands in winter, and the pharmacist recommended a cream called Epimax. It comes in a massive ugly tube like mayonnaise (but you can get small handbag sized ones too) is super cheap and not at all glam, but it really really works! At bedtime I do that, let it sink in, then do a layer of Body Shop hemp cream over it.
