Reflux or something else?

I have a GP appointment but not for another 10 days.

On Boxing Day night, I had the feeling of not being able to digest my food properly. It was stuck. Wouldn’t go down. This happened about 5 or 6 hours after I ate at lunchtime. I ate some turkey, ham, a couple of roast potatoes, gravy and veg. That was all I managed to eat that day. It has happened before a few times but that’s been when I have had a Chinese takeaway or an Indian and I put it down to additives, salt and MSG etc. It takes about 24 hours for me to digest my food and feel hungry. I have never struggled going to the toilet. That has always been as it has. Every day or every other day but still the digesting would be an issue.

Thing is, I have had little rest-bite from it since Boxing Day. I bit more of an appetite but bloating, sometimes pain and often feeling like I am going to burst out of my clothes because they become so tight. I can and have had many days where I have eaten 800/1000 calories or so and over the course of a month I have lost no weight at all.

I am on omeprazole for a knee injury as they work with my anti inflammatory tablets so I thought if it was heart burn (I don’t know what that feels like) they would help. I did get some relief with peptobismol but generally I have felt bloated and uncomfortable (sometimes sore) for a month now.

Al, I have eaten today is half a chicken breast and a flat bread with some cucumber. I am not hungry.

I am a bit worried. Has anyone had anything similar? I don’t want to take up an emergency appointment calling in tomorrow if it’s something daft like heartburn! I have two autoimmune conditions and no gallbladder

You need to see GP about this, it’s not a typical heartburn symptom. Being bloated can have many causes.
And to gently correct, it’s respite, not rest-bite (no such word).
