Hi all,

I am looking for a little hand hold and someone to calm me down about a pelvic ultrasound I am getting next week! I have pretty bad health anxiety so things like this don’t come easy but I am trying to stay logical. For context I am 38 and pre menopausal. I had a very random mid-cycle vaginal bleed last month, woke up in the morning, went to the toilet and noticed loads of blood - I say loads, it was in the toilet so hard to tell but it was bright red and a lot more than spotting. The day after this I had a really odd incident in which my pee looked brown, I initially put this down to residual old blood but it was very uniform so that’s also another worry. Normal period came ten days later. Fast forward a month, pretty much to the day and I had pink vaginal discharge for about two days followed by a normal period a week later .

The GP was great, referred me for an ultrasound, pelvic examination was normal and cervix was normal. I just cannot stop thinking the worst about what this ultrasound is going to show and know I am going to be a mess during it. Has anyone been in this position and it’s turned out not to be a horrible diagnosis?! I did start citalopram in November and i am really hoping it was that but can’t stop thinking it would surely have continued more had they been to blame.

Been in this position, USS showed uterine polyps which were later removed and were benign. I was told my risk of endometrial cancer was extremely low as I was under 40, same as you. I know it's easier said than done but try not to Google, if you need information look on reputable medical sites.
