Bone pain - should I be worried?

Not sure this is the correct place but wonder if anyone suffers with bone/joint pain?

I have had pain in my left hip for months now. I figured it was perimenopause so tried HRT (I'm 43) but it didn't agree with me so I stopped. It's painful to the point where I'm limping and it take a few minutes for me to be comfortable from sitting to standing. It's a stiffness with sharp pain just below the hip joint. I now also have some pain in my left arm. The osteopath said if it continues to see a gp and get some bloods. I have tried strength training but it just makes it worse.

Anyone have any experience of this? Is it just age? What should I do? What did you do to make it better? Could it be something sinister? Thanks

No one here can diagnose a thing like this; neither can an osteopath, frankly. If you’ve had it for months it’s now chronic (which doesn’t mean unfixable), so you need to see your gp in the first instance. A lot of chronic pain is stress related and does go away, but anything like this should definitely be checked out by an actual doctor. You may be x-rayed or referred for physio, depending on what your gp finds.
Fwiw, I’ve had many bouts of (very) long term pain which is mainly gone. You’re not broken but get it checked out!

Agree with everything @Agoddessonamountaintop says above. I too have had various bouts of chronic pain - one is 12 years old, still undiagnosed per sé but from the age of about 45, my body just didn't heal like it used to. Exercise, and especially Pilates has helped me but it doesn't cure.

Yes, I've had this a couple of times. I was severely lacking in Vitamin D and needed prescription strength tablets.

Prescription strength is 50,000+
OTC is between 1,000 and 5,000

Go to your GP and request a blood test.
