I started with a cough around three weeks ago. No cold symptoms just a tight chest and cough. Then a week later the cold symptoms started and the cough persisted. I had a GP appointment and mentioned the cough, they prescribed me Doxycycline.
I haven't started the meds as the cough seemed to settle. Although last night I've been awake during the night coughing again and I'm non stop coughing this morning. It's a chesty cough.
I am reluctant to start the doxycycline as I've had a lot of antibiotics for various things over the last year and don't really want to have to take more. I'm coughing up clear mucus. Should I wait and see if it settles again or just take the meds. The GP listened to my chest but didn't say if I had a chest infection.
