Ow my tooth!

I crunched down on something that shouldn't have been in my lunch. I don't know what it was. My tooth hurt, but it didn't feel like anything broke off. I suppose it could be cracked? After a few minutes I was able to finish my lunch, eating only on the other side.

It's now hurting all the time. Not unbearable, but I doubt I'll be able to sleep without PR.

As it happens, I have a dentist appointment in 9 days. Just routine check-up. Can my tooth wait for this? Is there any risk?

I would give them a phone see if you can get a earlier appointment. Take pain relief and put a bag of cold peas on it. Also swish the area with warm water with salt in it (mind spit the water out)

Hope you get better soon op 💐

My tooth is definitely broken. I can now feel a loose bit. Is there anything I can do for temporary relief until my appointment? The pain is completely manageable on paracetamol and ibuprofen. Until I forget, and bite down in that side.

I will phone on Monday and see if I can be seen earlier. But I’m a nervous patient and I really only want to see the dentist I know.

It happened to me on holiday once. 🫣 You are doing what you need to do - just avoid biting down on that side. You can also use oragel/clove oil for more immediate relief. As you have found out, the tooth will let you know when you do.

Call in on Monday, these things don't improve with time. Hope you get it sorted soon!

I didn’t know about Orajel. Thanks. I’ll get some tomorrow.
