Mini pill question

DonDons · 13/06/2008 13:45

I am 7 weeks post natal and have started taking mini pill which I have not taken before.

Lochia stopped about 2.5 weeks ago but have started bleeding again after 6 pills. Is this normal? Have googled but can't find any answers... TIA

I bled quite eratically when on the mini-pill. That wasn't post-natally though. I think it's quite common.

oh bugger.........I had a feeling that might be the case....thanks Nicky

it might settle down a bit though.
If it's any consolation, my bleeding was mainly very light.

I have not had any bleeds since starting mini pill but still bf however periods had returned prior to taking it.
You can have irregular bleeding though.

am still BFing too but period had not yet returned. Will be strange after all this time getting back into a cycle!

Which pill is it? I am on cerezatte & have very irregular bleeding. Think it is pretty common with the mini pill - something to do with the lack of progesterone, as this is what gives you cycle control. That's what the nurse told me when I was moaning about it at my last pill check.

It's femulen. GP chose it as it is the closest to my regular pill (Cilest) which I will go back on when I stop BFing.

It took me years to find a pill that didn't make me mad/depressed/bleed all the time and the GP thought this one would be okay.

Still early days I suppose so I'll see how it goes for a while before going back to GP.
